My name is Portia Favro. My pronouns are she/they + I’m a pro dancer, turned showgirl.
After blowing apart my knee in my late teens (ACL, MCL + meniscus) I reevaluated my life + transitioned into journalism. However, after being seduced by the local burlesque scene, I quit my desk job + jetéd into showgirl life full-time.
I’m been dubbed the “traveling showgirl” as I’ve performed from Berlin to New Orleans, Los Angeles to Seattle, Whitehorse to Montreal + many places in-between.
I’m the Headmistress of the Pin-Up Posse, + my curated troupe of babes won “BEST LARGE GROUP” at the Burlesque Hall of Fame with my choreography!
My other passion is producing and teaching. You’ll find monthly shows in local breweries with Pin-Up Posse + large-scale productions in La Maison Lust, co-produced with Cherry OnTop.
I’m a trauma-informed instructor + you’ll find me teaching heels, burlesque, sensuality, barre + retro go-go technique locally and also on-demand.
I will do all in my being to ensure my classes are truly welcoming spaces to provide coaching for your movement + dance goals, especially working with those dealing with trauma, disabilities + mental health. I’ve worked extensively in Vancouver’s DTES specifically with PACE Society facilitating movement + dance classes +
am a former frontline worker for WISH Drop-In Centre Society.
XO- Miss P
